New Dizzy bags in my shop! This is the doll that I have already shown you and I have added a fish design.
I am also offering the fabric for the doll in a length so that you can make bags, cushions, dolls etc. yourself.
When I have a moment to spare I would like to make up all the options and offer a few instructions in the pack but at the moment it is just simply the fabric!
It's school holidays and with two teenage boys it's just food, food and more food! Hopefully have more time next week.

Dizzy Doll

I have just made a bag for a friends daughter and I thought I would show you how it turned out. This is the original artwork and starting point for the print. Final print, with her name on the front of the dress. I only made the doll because I'm thinking of doing a sort of kit where you get the print in a couple of different sizes so you can make up whatever you want-bags, dolls, cushions etc. I intend to do all these options myself before I put it into my shop!

The bag has a draw-string which is very easy to make and works really well.

The bag is linned but at the moment no pockets or pouches, maybe later. Pull the cords, sling it over your back and off you go! I will photograph it on a child (not a chair!) before I list it in my shop. What do you think?
I am also working on a fish design but will show you that next week!

messy studio

After seeing everyone's super neat and organized studio's I feel a bit embarrassed showing my work space. Anyway I decided that this is really what it looks like, no tidying up for the photo shoot!

I am quite a neat person, really! and just to prove that you can see a bit more of my home on ofifteen's home tour here.
I am really quite flattered and assured them that there is really nothing exciting, retro or modern in my home, its all really quite boring and old fashioned! Maybe this will inspire me to update a few things!

cats and things

I found this lovely cat pole on One Pretty Thing and thought it would be great for my feline, KitKat. She has ruined my couch and has how moved on to the carpet. She also loves the underneath part of the diningroom chairs and is systematically working her way through those!

Speaking of spoilt cats, this is the afore mentioned, Kitkat.
The weather in the Cape has been absolutely terrible, rain, more rain and gale force winds. As you can see some of us take no notice whatsoever and just sleep ALL DAY! To go outside is a real effort, much more fun to put your head down on a pillow, warm rug against your back and a soft couch under your weary body!

orchids

I am so pleased with myself because these orchids are from my very own garden! I have to admit that they are no trouble at all. Just put them, in a pot, in a sheltered corner and water occasionally. The wind has been so bad that I didn't think they would survive but, as you can see, they did. What joy!

Blog award

Another blog award! This time from Daisy Janie.
I am really excited to know that there are people out there reading my blog. Being new at this it seems to take hours to post anything while everyone else is furiously blogging away! Thanks Jan you have definately made my day,or should I say week! Now to pass it on. Following the "Your Cover's Blown" rules, I must name a few bloggers to continue sending the love by (1) awarding other bloggers on their blog and (2) linking back to this blog in the process.

I try to read a few blogs everyday and these are my current favourites for information and inspiration!

Packaging

After reading a storque article about packaging I decided to do something a bit more interesting than a plastic bag and a bit of sticky tape! I was going to add some beads too but the postage cost is a bit of a deterrent, maybe next time.

Wind and waves

Wild seas and gale force winds in Hermanus this weekend!

The road next to the sea was impassable in certain areas. This is actually in a little bay so you can imagine what the open sea was like ! We were about to be brave and drive through this debris when the waves started breaking over the road.
